7billionideas and the Creative Education Trust have joined forces to find the most creative young minds across the organisation of schools. The #Change2019 Roadshow involves hundreds of children from the Trust’s primary schools who are encouraged to ‘think big, dream big’, and develop an idea that could change the world.
The participating children, aged five to 11, will work in small teams to form their ideas, before creating posters, models, musical jingles and presentations for their peers and teachers. Eventually, one team from each school will be chosen to go through to the #Change2019 finals day on 29 March where one overall winner will be chosen and have their idea made into a specially designed, colourful reading book.
Emily Campbell, Director of Programmes at the Creative Education Trust, said, “The primary schools are looking forward to the big day of #Change2019. 7BillionIdeas’s fantastic process, practical resources and surprising materials encourage ingenuity and problem-solving and we can’t wait to see what our pupils come up with next!”
The collaboration is part of a series of nationwide competitions designed to inspire young innovators and entrepreneurs of the future, encouraging pupils to generate a variety of world changing ideas on subjects such as the environment, health, technology and sport. Since its start, the 7billionideas competitions have generated a fantastic array of creative ideas, from an app to help children and parents who become separated, to a GPS connected earpiece to help visually impaired people find their way around.
