7billionideas announces Director of People

7billionideas (7b) continues the expansion of its leadership team with the appointment of Jo Oakley as Director of People. With 3 new Directors being announced in the 2019-2020 fiscal year, 7billionideas continues to demonstrate its dedication to personal development and meritocratic career advancement.

Jo Oakley started her career in HR in the Hospitality industry before sitting her MA in Personnel and Development at the University of Westminster in 2009.  With over 15 years of experience in the area, Jo is seen as not only an exceptionally capable pair of hands in Human Resources, but also an innovator given her prominent role as Director of HR Solutions for Infinitely People — a leading strategic human capital consultancy company.

CEO of the 7billionideas Group, David Harkin, echoed this sentiment when commenting on this new appointment, highlighting ‘How lucky we are to have a talent like Jo become our Director of People. Jo has been with us for 18+ months and has shown herself to be an exceptional strategic thinker and a fantastic asset to our company. This new title is recognition of her hard work and a sign to our team that our people are crucial to everything that we do and are one of our biggest assets. It's also a sign to the rest of the world that at 7billionideas, you don't need to work full time to be a leader, as she becomes the 3rd female on our Board of Directors, all part time.  It's an exciting chapter for Jo and for the company as we continue to evolve.’

Alongside the incoming Director of Operations, Compliance and Quality, and Director of Design and Marketing —Lola Ospanova and Ravi Chauhan respectively— 7billionideas looks to position itself to promote ideation, innovation and entrepreneurial skills, not just externally for clients and the minds of tomorrow, but also internally, leveraging its strengths for long term sustainable growth.

Commenting on her appointment, Jo Oakley elaborated on her vision for the company saying "It is an absolute honour to continue my career with 7billionideas, an organisation that makes real changes to aspirations and dreams of young people. We live and breathe innovation, creativity and curiosity and I am thrilled to be developing these values internally through all of our People projects. This is an exciting new chapter, personally and professionally, and I couldn't be more proud to work for a company with such brilliant vision."
