This week, 7billionideas, in conjunction with the International Voluntary Service Organisation, Lions Clubs International, launches a brand new competition in the South East of England.
#ROAR2017 is fully funded by Lions Clubs of the South East of England and is open to Key Stage 2 pupils (children aged 7-11) across the South East. Pupils will be encouraged to ‘roar’ out their world changing ideas, creating posters, prototypes, jingles and stories over a five week period with the schools selecting a winning team to compete in the December final.
Thirty schools are taking part in this year’s competition, all of whom are receiving a roadshow assembly from 7billionideas and Lions Clubs over the next fortnight.. The students will be inspired to think big and dream big about the possibility of their ideas encouraging them to use their imaginations and creativity to make a difference.
David Harkin, CEO of 7billionideas, said:
“We are very delighted to be launching #ROAR2017 with the Lions Clubs of the South East of England, which is a perfect example of how they work within their Communities to enhance the lives of children and young people. It will give primary school pupils an opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial skills benefiting them throughout their time at school and beyond. This competition will help children build their confidence and develop their imaginations whilst working with peers from across the country. We can’t wait to see what type of ideas the students come up with and turn the winning idea into a children’s book. In the future, we hope to roll out the competition nationally to enable more primary school children to take part and develop key enterprise skills.”
