The successful partnership between 7billionideas and Surbiton High School helped the school to secure the Creativity Award at the 2018 Times Educational Supplement (TES) Independent School Awards on 8th February 2018.
We are delighted to have been part of this success having worked tirelessly with the school to promote entrepreneurial and creative thinking within the student body and empowering the students with the skill set they need to meet the challenges of the 21st century workplace. To be part of this winning submission is an honour and a great reflection on the pioneering approach Surbiton High School has taken in embracing entrepreneurship and all encompasses
The TES judges said:
“Surbiton High School enjoys very specific and explicit emphasis on creativity. Significant resources support the effort and ideas, and projects and competitions within the School (and, more broadly, through the School’s parent Trust, ULT) stimulate healthy competition and also showcase what has been achieved. Results are thus highly visible, and it’s clear that for the school this entry is no one-off project but an ongoing and central theme.”
Rebecca Glover, Principal of Surbiton High School added:
“We are delighted to have been awarded the TES Creativity Award. I would like to thank the hard work of our Entrepreneur in Residence and Writer in Residence to ensure we stay at the forefront of creativity in learning and teaching.”
Further to this exciting win, our collaboration with Surbiton High has been nominated for the ‘Collaboration between School and Supplier’ award at the Education Resources Awards. The finals are due to be held on Friday 16th March.
