#Change2018 sees 7billionideas and the Creative Education Trust partner for a second successful year

#Change2018 saw 7billionideas partner with the Creative Trust for a second successful year. As with the previous year, 7billionideas visited 5 primary schools on behalf of Creative Education Trust to launch our ideas competition, #Change2018. Designed to encourage students to generate, develop and then articulate their ideas which they feel could change the world, #Change 2018 will see the winning idea turned into a short children’s book.  This week we had the conclusion of the final, hosted at Abbeyfield School in Northampton.

Students took part in warm up activities before preparing their stalls to showcase their innovative ideas to the judges. After much deliberation, the judges awarded certificates to the following schools for best stall, model and poster, before announcing 3rd, 2nd and 1st place for the overall winner of #Change2018

- Best Stall: Water Whizz – Queen Eleanor Primary Academy

- Best Poster: RIP Allergy – Three Peaks Primary Academy

- Best Model: Superstars – Three Peaks Primary Academy

- 3rd Place: Moving House – Harpfield Primary Academy

- 2nd Place: Light bulb – Wroughton Junior Academy

- 1st Place: Sea Saver – Woodlands Primary Academy

A big well done to Woodlands Primary Academy, whose idea, Sea Saver would be an animal like object, go into the water and suck up all the plastic which is put into the ocean. We are very excited to see this turned in to a book.

David Harkin, CEO of 7billionideas said:

“This is the second year we have run this competition and the level of creativity is higher than ever before. The ways the students presented and communicated their ideas were fantastic and the students, teachers and parents should be incredibly proud of the ideas that were created. We are looking forward to working with the Creative Education Trust in the future and seeing all the world changing ideas this will bring.”

A huge thank you must be said to Abbeyfield School, our hosts for the final. A big well done to every student that participated in the competition and all the teachers who have helped make it a reality in their schools. 7billionideas and Creative Education Trust can’t wait to work with you in 2019 to see what ideas you generate next year!
